Make your Skywagon a faster, higher-flying bird. Similar technology has been used in race cars and motorcycles for years, now it is available for your Cessna 180. By more effectively emptying the cylinders of spent exhaust gases, this high-performance exhaust system immediately gives your Cessna 180 the following improvements:
A take-off roll that is measurably shorter
An improvement in the aircraft’s rate of climb
An increase in Cruise Speed.
CHT’s that are cooler across the board.
A Service Ceiling that is higher, with a corresponding improvement in performance at higher density altitudes
The back pressure has been greatly reduced with the 1-3/4″ primary tubes being large enough to handle a 550 engine. The primary tubes also incorporate a slip joint to accommodate expansion and contraction and do away with the original 2 part 1-1/2″ beaded end risers that were inherent to leakage and very difficult to remove.

Compatible with original 2 bolt exhaust engine flanges and upgraded 4 bolt engine exhaust flanges
For the early Cessna 180 Skywagons that still have the original two bolt flange pattern on the O-470 A - J, we have you covered. If you've overhauled or upgraded cylinders to the 4 bolt style flange, P-PONK / Northpoint or converted to a larger 520 / 550 let us know when ordering. We have both 2 bolt and 4 bolt flange options for your early Skywagon!

Polished Finish or Ceramic Coated Tailpipes?
The Ceramic Coated tailpipe is a cosmetic enhancement that hides the heat induced discoloration that is characteristic of stainless steel (think of the "bluing" you see on the muffler of a motorcycle).
This discoloration has absolutely no effect on performance or reliability but the ceramic coating covers it up permanently. Otherwise, the polished tailpipe begins to discolor after a few hours of flying time. It can be re-polished anytime, but if you are proud of your Skywagon's appearance and would rather spend your time flying than polishing, the ceramic is a nice feature to have.
Polished Tailpipes
Challenger Air Filter
The Challenger air filter replaces the disposable foam filter media found on most aircraft with K&N's high efficiency reusable filter media which provides up to three times more air flow to the intake manifold of the engine. Our own testing has repeatedly confirmed Challenger's published data:
A boost in manifold pressure (up to ½”)
An increase of 1 - 2 knots in airspeed
An increase in available power on takeoff.
As mentioned above, the filter media itself is reusable. You just clean it and recharge it (coat it with oil so the dust sticks to it with the provided CP-99-5050 Rechard Kit once a year during annual and you can reuse it up to 25 times or 2,500 flight hours. Since the Challenger system significantly improves the intake side of your Cessna's engine at a very reasonable cost, we consider it to be the perfect complement to our performance Tuned Exhaust System, which significantly improves the exhaust side of things.
A Word To The Wise:
We strongly recommend that the aircraft's propeller be dynamically balanced to within 0.2 ips (inches per second) upon installation of the Power Flow System and every two to four years thereafter or whenever the propeller is removed and reinstalled. If the propeller is dynamically balanced within 25 flight hours of the installation (before or after) of the Power Flow System and you furnish PFS with copies of the logbook entries confirming this, PFS will extend the warranty on the Tuned Exhaust System from 12 months to 24 months or 500 Flight Hours (whichever occurs first).
Doing so every 2 - 4 years thereafter will dramatically improve the useful life and the reliability of every component that is bolted to the engine, including the Power Flow System.
Still not sure if a Power Flow is right for you and your airplane? For complete peace of mind, check out our:

Who wants to gamble with their hard-earned dollars? You don’t want to and Power Flow doesn’t want you to, either. That’s why we offer three layers of protection with each system we ship:
100% customer satisfaction guarantee: If within 60 days from the date of the first flight after installation you are dissatisfied for any reason, you can return the system to Power Flow Systems and you will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase price of the system (exclusive of shipping charges and labor) once the system has been received and inspected by Power Flow Systems. Inspection will take place within five (5) days from the return of the system, and an adjustment to the refund amount will be made for any parts missing or damaged. We know that it works, more than 7,300 Satisfied Customers worldwide know that it works, and your local Power Flow Preferred Dealer knows that it works . . .
But - what happens if it doesn’t work on YOUR airplane?
As the name implies, this program lets you buy a Power Flow Tuned Exhaust System for your airplane through one of our Preferred Dealers, have them install it for you, and go fly with it for 60 days, absolutely risk free!
If it works like we know it will, Great! Welcome to the world of higher performance!
If the system doesn’t live up to YOUR expectations, or even if it does but you just don’t like all that extra horsepower, simply fly your airplane back to the Preferred Dealer (who originally installed your Power Flow). That Dealer will:
Remove the Power Flow System from your aircraft,
Reinstall your original exhaust (as long as it was airworthy when removed) at No Charge,
Refund the purchase price and installation charges you paid to have the system installed, &
Return the system to us at the Dealer's expense.
Power Flow will even refund your outbound shipping charges meaning that the only thing you stand to lose is your skepticism!
1953-55 Cessna 180 PIREPS, Comments & Reviews
" ...Seeing about 10.5 GPH instead of 11.8-12 gph, keeping CHT’s at or below 200°C [392 F] "
"I have flown about 30 hours on the aircraft with the new exhaust and I’m very impressed.. I am seeing about 10.5 GPH instead of 11.8-12 gph, keeping CHT’s at or below 200°C [392 F]. Correspondingly I’m seeing about a 2-3 knot improvement on TAS...I estimate with the average of 1 gph fuel saving, it would take just over a year of my routine flying to break even. Beyond that, I would be saving money and in the long term, the system would pay for itself.
The performance improvements have been a significant bonus. The rebuilt [PFS Designed] cabin heat shroud I’m sure will keep the cabin nice a toasty warm during the cold fall/winter months in Wisconsin. I can’t say enough great things about the Powerflow system for my 180. It was a great investment, and working with everyone at Powerflow systems has been wonderful.

" I gained approx. 8-10kts , in air speed "
“I gained approx. 8-10kts , in air speed in wheel ski configuration and 25-35 degree reduction in cylinder EGT readings”. I will update you with more photos and testimonials as the year goes on, configured with wheels and Amphibian floats.
