Default The Challenger does let more air through

After the new exhaust I gained about 130 rpm max. Then I added the new air filter system and had problems at full throttle like carb ice. It turned out that my carb had a bad float in it and could not keep up with all the extra air coming through. After a carb rebuild it really put out the power.
So improving performance may actually reveal some other long standing problems. My old exhaust and air filter were so restrictive that having a bad carb did not show up. The engine was sluggish and the previous owner just accepted it as-is.
