Default Another Power Flow Story

For those of you who are Beech Aero Club (BAC) members, I have posted the same info and pix on the BAC site. Search Power Flow in forums and photo gallery. My username is Unclerap.

My very friendly A&P and even friendlier AI installed a Power Flow exhasut on my 1963 M23. Engine is Lyc O-320d2b, 760 hrs SMOH, 2800TT, Flottorp 76-60 prop. The PF parts, people and service are excellent, each part bolted up exactly as the instructions indicated. Fit and finish of the product is outstanding. Calls to PF for help, guidance, etc were answered on the 2nd ring. PF richness test performed and passed. Here are the tangibles:

80F day, wind L&V, 6 hr cross country, 3 hr legs.
2170 lbs at takeoff both times, I topped off at the stop; 2300 is gross.
+75 rpm static (now 2375)
500 fpm climb thru 5000' 2500rpm
400 fpm climb thru 8000' 2500rpm
2775 rpm at 8500' (over redline 2700)
2600 rpm at 8500' showed 108 kts GPS
6.8 gph
Leaned to peak at cruise, CHT never over 380, under 350 at cruise measured with EI digital

Intangibles:
Cabin is cooler and quieter because the heat shroud and muffler are removed from the firewall. Sounds "throatier" (if that's a word) according to ground based observers. This is the cheapest and quickest power gain you can do to a Lycoming. The rebates put me in the mood, but the performance has made me a believer. So for about $4k I have Sundowner performance from my 47 yr old Musketeer. Not bad!!!!
